I didn't go to China until i was 11, and i'm half chinese. I struggled to find foods that I liked because they were unfamiliar because my fam is from Changsha Hunan and they took me to this grocery store and they had that. It was like a comfort snack and it makes me happy when i eat it now.
I don't go to Asian often so I feel very disconnected from my parents' home especially that I go to school in Indiana. The Chinese part of me is something I always forget so this interview was a very sweet reminder.
